Opening a bottle of vino takes exactly three seconds and does not require a shaker, or even ice for that matter, so pre-Craig mixed drinks where for girls night out not Mom’s night in. This slightly pink, entirely girly version of Carrie Bradshaw’s most famous sipping choice is the first drink that motivated me to keep my liquor bar stocked. Craig makes them better than any bar I tried. I recommend handing your honey the shaker and this recipe. Then sit back, relax, and enjoy watching him work.

quick cocktail, classic cosmopolitan

Start with vodka (we like Svedka), Cointreau, fresh limes, and cranberry-raspberry juice. We try lots of different cranberry juice blends but keep returning to this one as it has just the right mix of tart versus sweet.

Mix two parts vodka, two parts cranberry juice, one part Cointreau, and half a fresh lime (squeeze out juice) into the shaker. Most recipes for Cosmopolitans call for Triple Sec instead of Cointreau. This is a much cheaper way to make them, but the flavor isn’t quite as special. If you’ve ever ordered a Cosmo at a bar and thought it lacked something, this is why. A bottle of Cointreau will run you $30+ but will last for awhile and really makes this cocktail special.

Kelly made this just for me. She turned a Wicked Witch of the East (it’s a shot) into a drink...
